For advisers
Review procedures for venues that need a professional
We’re building a way to pass venues that need a professional review to advisers who can do it, and we’re looking for the first few. It isn’t running yet: no venue has been referred to anyone, and there is no queue of work waiting. This page is how we find the advisers we would refer to once there is.
What we’d send you
Premises Ready takes a venue through the Martyn’s Law duties a step at a time, and flags anything its own answers can’t settle as needing a look — an unusual building, a question about where people would shelter, a procedure that plainly needs somebody to read it properly. Where a venue wants that done by a professional, we’d send you the flag together with their completed questionnaire and their draft procedures, so you start from what they have already written down rather than from a blank page and a phone call.
Who we’re looking for
Counter-terrorism security advisers, protective-security consultants, and fire-risk assessors adding this to work they already do. Qualified, insured and based in the UK. We’re not asking for one particular qualification or one particular membership — tell us what you hold and which bodies you belong to, and Darren will read it himself.
How we intend it to work
We’d match on region, so you only hear about venues you can actually reach. The venue would pay a fixed review fee through us and you would keep the majority of it. Your name would go on the document you reviewed, as its reviewer, so the venue’s own record shows who looked at it.
And it would run the other way too: if you send a venue our way, you’d get a referral code and a share of what that venue pays us for as long as they stay with us.
What this is not
- An offer of work. There is no work to offer yet.
- A contract, or any agreement about fees — no fee is set.
- A panel you are being added to. We are collecting applications so that Darren can read them.
Put yourself forward
Darren reviews every application personally and will reply within a week.
